Our Saturday Fun With the Morrill Family!

The ceremonial start of the iditarod was Saturday. We bundled up and went to one of the view points. It was a great spot. There was a small hill for the girls to sled down. There were 67 entries and we stayed to watch 25 or so.
We found a nice place by a sharp bend. We had a great view as the sled dog teams came by. We only saw one sled tip over. It was kind of cool. After each team passed Lydia would say more, more.
Ella had fun playing in the snow and would stop just long enough to see each team pass by. Later we had a snowball fight at a park.

Renee felt the wind from this sled as it passed. That was a closer call than she would have liked. After all the fun we went down to the old railyard and looked at snow sculptures. Here are a few of our favorites.

This is the second place finisher. It reminds us of grandma and grandpa moose.

Family Pictures Fall 2012

Since we are moving soon to Alaska, we thought it would be a good idea to update our family pictures so that we can be remembered.  : )

The Phone Call

Last night while I was helping my girls clean up their toys, Ella found a phone and started "talking" on it. She told us she was talking to "Jesus."
Abby then said to her, "Ella, do you know how to talk to Jesus? You just say your prayers!"
It was so sweet. I sure love my girls.
They teach me so much every day.

Pumpkin heads

On Saturday we had our annual Pumpkin Carving Festivities. We all had a great time. Adam especially enjoyed putting a 43 pound jack o'lantern on the kids heads.

4 Months *

Sweet Lydia is technically still 4 months, at least for another week. We went to southern Utah for a family reunion when Lydia really turned 4 months, then there were some forgetful days and some sick days so at 4 months and 3 weeks, we get the 4 month pictures.
My mother started the tradition in our family to take the babies pictures each month in the first year of life. My sister Janette followed suit, so tradition is the reason (and of course 3 beautiful girls) for the monthly pictures.
On friday 7/15/11, Lydia went to the Dr. for her checkup. She has grown. She is 27.5" tall-99%, weighs 17 lbs 10 oz (with a full diaper. Adam thought he would have to take the diaper off, so he didn't change her before)- 96%.
In the past month and a half, Lydia has learned to roll over both ways. She loves to stand. She is very vocal. She love all of the attention from her older sisters, loves kisses and to be sung to. She is such a pleasant baby. She is a blessing to our family.

3 months

So, Lydia is really 3 months old. I was a little slow in posting the 2 month pictures. I am in love with this little girl. She is so full of smiles. From the getgo, Lydia was a pretty good sleeper. At 6.5 weeks, she decided she could sleep all night and has every night.

Lydia has the cutest belly laugh. Abby and Ella love to make her laugh everyday. Lydia loves to make wierd sounds and have someone create the same sound for her to hear. It puts a smile on her face.

Lydia is starting to grab toys, loves her bath (especially with her big sisters), she sucks on her fists and it quite the talker (good thing, or she wouldn't get a word in edgewise).
