Winter happenings....

Warning this may take time to load as there are photos and videos attached......

Friday night it began snowing. By 9 o'clock there was about 8 or so inches . Renee asked if I wanted to shovel. I looked up the weather and didn't find much on how long it would last, but it forcast  8 to 12 inches. So, I opted to wait until morning and shovel. Well, we awoke to 15 inches.

Of course I should have listened to Renee (Goes without saying--but I said it). Instead I spent 2 hours shoveling snow to start off the day. I did have some help. The girls came out and played in the driveway. They liked to get buried ontop of our snowpile. Renee and our neighbor helped out otherwise I would have been out there longer.

After we came in to dry off, have lunch, and get warm. We had planned on going x-country skiing. So, off we went to Service High School. Here are a few videos of our outing.

Abby made it almost all the way down!
Ella made it about halfway.
Lydia just liked to lean back.

I blazed the trail down the hill. I must admit that skiing in this much powder is fun, and I got the best part. This is the biggest and steepest hill that the girls have tried to ski down. I even had a hard time leaning forward. With the snow this deep it was difficult for the girls to move, so we changed plans and pulled out the sleds. The snow was so fresh that one of our sleds kept getting stuck and the girls would slide off and down without it.

Ella and Lydia had a ball playing in the snow. They tunneled around as if digging in sand. For them it was a day at the beach without the 70 to 80 degree weather!

Even though we are getting ready for Spring and warmer weather, this was a welcome surprise to end the girls spring break.

Love spending time as a family!
